Sadaf Monajemi

Who was she?

Monajemi is a co-founder of See-Mode Technologies, which encourages doctors to detect strokes without extra testing using deep learning and computational modeling. When she finished her PhD at the National University of Singapore, she learned how to apply her background information to machine learning and artificial intelligence. She used her knowledge to solve a real-world problem in See-Mode to make significant changes to patients and the medical industry. Within 2 years, she managed to grow See-Mode to a team of 13 engineers and scientists that is introducing a new approach for strokes into hospitals.
She was born in Tehran, Iran, in 1990 and sought a dual Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and biomedical engineering from the Amirkabir University of Technology in 2013. Monajemi started as a Research Assistant at Nanyang Technological University, where she found her interests that led her to See-Mode. She was always fascinated with statistical signal processing, adaptive networks, and optimization. She and her husband, Milad Mohammadzadeh worked with each other to develop their company, See-Mode. She was the one to encourage her husband to join Entrepreneur First Singapore’s start-up boot camp because he hesitated on how stable the career was. Monajemi was motivated from the start and believed they could make a difference. His worry about financial security immediately disappeared when accepted applicants of the boot camp were able to receive $15,000 within 3 months to establish an idea. If you could manage to give a promising business plan, then they invest $25,000 for equity. Entrepreneur First helped See-Mode create a base and mission statement for their organization.
Strokes are the 2nd leading factor for death and the company believes it’s the way you treat it can influence the results and that medical professionals should drift from the traditional practice of stenosis grading. See-Mode heavily focuses on deep learning and computational modeling to find the best treatment personalized for each patient. It has already made its product of artificial intelligence images that have seen regulatory approval from the Health Sciences Authority in Singapore and they’re waiting for CE’s response. They’ve already begun trials in 2 hospitals in Singapore and a few investors like Blackbird Ventures and MassMutual Ventures. It’s not long until See-Mode makes long-term impacts on our healthcare system and starts saving millions of lives.
